Job Description
Position: RF Design Engineer
Job Code: EHRJ7001
Responsibilities
– Design, implement and test broadband RF transceivers using state of the art highly integrated RFICs operating from DC to 24 GHz
– Design specification documentation
– Schematic capture and simulation in OrCAD tool.
– Performance analysis and optimization in Allegro tool.
– Detailed PCB layout support
– Design verification and QA test support
– New product introduction and manufacturing test support
Technical Requirements
– Participate in preparation of system level specifications.
– Assist in the development of hardware specifications.
– Analyse, design, and develop RF communication circuits and systems using simulation and circuit design software.
– Demonstrate and document product and circuit robustness using computer simulations, conventional analysis and standard testing methodologies to validate against system design specifications.
– Experience in RF system design and link budget analysis to develop RF performance specifications and test methodology
– Deep understanding of issues related to noise figure, phase noise, data converters, filters, AGCs, PLLs, spurious components, delay mismatch, EMI, etc.
– Conduct design reviews
– Write and analyse test plans, conduct design tests and evaluate test results.
– Excellent skills in equipment such as a Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, RF Generator, Power Meter, and Oscilloscope
-Experience with up/down converters, frequency synthesizers, mixers, ADCs, DACs, and feed-forward power amplifier linearizers.
Preferred Technical Skills
-RF & Microwave Design
-Antenna Design and Testing
-PCB Design using OrCAD
-Simulation using Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS, or AWR Microwave Office, CST Studio Suite and MATLAB
-Basic knowledge of Wireless Communication Standards (GSM, WCDMA, UMTS)
-FPGA / DSP-based Signal Processing Exposure
Non-Technical Requirements
– Provide and maintain accurate product cost estimates.
– Provide and maintain accurate project plans. Manages and/or leads hardware projects of moderate complexity.
– Prepare and maintain product documentation, including data sheets, instruction manuals, project notebooks, and design and test documentation.
– Coordinate engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing.
– Directs the efforts of associate engineers and technicians
– Participate in industry technical meetings, seminars, and conferences.
– Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
